Thanks to the tremendous support from St Paul USBC Association bowlers,  to the Bowlers to Veterans Link (BVL)  Members of the Minnesota National Guard Company B, 2nd Battalion, 211th Aviation Regiment take bowling to new heights in IRAQ.

We were waiting for a load at an airfield one night when the idea just hit us "why don't we bowl a frame or two?" It ended up being about 14 frames - it was a long wait.

The Soldiers of Company B, 2nd Battalion, 211th Aviation Regiment, have only been in existence since Oct. 1, 2005, and are already in combat.

The company which calls Holman Field in St. Paul, Minn., home flies CH-47 (Chinook) helicopters are now in Iraq with the 36th Combat Aviation Brigade.

The  St Paul USBC  Associaition has sent  several portable carpet bowling lane kits to active duty troops in Iraq.

The kit consists of a 26 foot long red, white and blue carpet bowling lane, a 5 lb. rubberized bowling ball and lightweight plastic bowling pins. The lane, ball and pins, packaged in a nylon carrying bag, can be set up in a few minutes time, whenever a break in the schedule permits. The kit also includes score sheets and instructions.
