A league bowler for 33 years, with composite
lifetime average of 200. Had 11 series over 700 in 1956-57, and has between 125 and 130
series of 700 or better with a high of 784. Has nine 300 games, two sanctioned. One of the
300's came in a 725 total that won City Singles title in 1952-53. Has competed in 20 ABC
meets with lifetime average of 191, his best All-Events being 1870 in 1964. Finished fifth
with late George Dodor in ABC doubles in 1957. Competed in first ABC at age 15 in 1941 in
high school division. Was youngest bowler ever to compete in National All Star, being 17
in 1943. Shot 683 as Howard's Clothes won City Team title in 1952-53 and member of Hamm's
Beer team which won Men's State Title in 1953. Posted a 1978 total in City All-Events in
1952-53. Named to All-City team in 1956-57. Competed in two World Invitational meets and
was a charter member of Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) in 1958. Is past president
and secretary of St. Paul All Star league. Won high average in St. Paul City league twice
and four times in Harkins Straightaway.
