Named to All-City team
five times. Has two State titles to his credit, teaming with Denny Savoy in 1966 for a
doubles total of 1286 and member of Hamm's team champions in 1973 with 3315 series. Won or
shared in five City tournament champion- ships, three of those in one meet. All five were
Actual titles. In the 1963-64 competition won the All Events crown with a 1937 total,
shared the doubles title with Harry Rose on a 1253 series and was a member of the Hamm's
Beer squad which won top team honors on a 3078 total. Was also a member of the Grain Belt
Beer team champions in 1961-62 and secured another All Events title in 1969-70 with a 1886
total. Garnered third place in the Bowlers Journal tournament in Indianapolis in 1974,
amassing a five-game total of 1121. Captured first place in Nybo's five-game straightaway
tourney in Red Wing in 1959 on a 1130 series. Was a member of the 7-Up team which wound up
in fourth place in the 1960 ABC tournament held in Detroit. Has rolled two sanctioned 300
games, one in 196l, the other in 1967. Has corralled fifty-five 700 series with a high of
779. In a span of twenty years averaged 200+ in every season but one. Led the City league
in average four straight years with marks of 208, 207, 206 and 202. Held high average
three times in White Bear Dodge Masters league with a high mark of 211 in the 1970-7l
season.
