Began bowling in Mohawk Pleasure league at
the Mohawk Lanes in 1940 and continued bowling until 1976, a total of 36 years. Bowled in
the Midway Major, City League (Hamm Bldg. and Harkins), Classic league, Traveling league
and All Star league and maintained her highest average of 187 in the Mohawk Pleasure
league. Bowled on the City league championship team for ten years and had high average in
that league for three years. Bowled in the Classic and All Star leagues for 26 years and a
member of City tournament championship teams six times: 1955, 1956, 1964, 1965, 1967 and
1968. Champion of City 600 Club tournament in 1966 with 611 scratch score. Named to the
All-City team six times; 1956-57, 1957-58, 1958-59, 1960-61, 1961-61 and 1965-66. While
serving in the Marines in 1945 she won the service tournament team, doubles and all-events
with entries from the California area. Shared doubles title with Ann Grandl in the
Northern tournament in Fargo, ND; shared second place in doubles at WIBC tournament with
Bunny Weidell in 1958, participated in WIBC Queen's tournament in Portland, OR. Has a 678
high series and her 278 high game was also high game in the City in the 1962-63 season.
Appeared on the Sunday night All-Star Bowling show for seven straight weeks. Has a
lifetime average of 182 and well over one hundred 600 totals to her credit. Served as
Vice-President of the City league and All-Star league and as Vice-President of St. Paul
600 Club for 17 years.
