Started bowling in 1930 and is
"...still-at-it." Bowled two or three nights per week and carried a 200+ average
one, two or three nights per week during his career. Won the St. Paul City Singles title
with 696. High finishes in the Minneapolis Tribune Singles championship include a 9th, a
26th and a 28th. A member of the 1968 Team champions in St. Cloud's Cold Spring Kegle
Tournament. Served as the St. Paul "700 Club" King Pin for the 1977-78 bowling
year. Once led the Retail League in average with 206, his personal high average in the St.
Paul All-Star League was 204 and his personal high average in the Stahl House Classic
League was 210. Has rolled two 299's, two 298's, 10 279's, 10 278's, an estimated 70
700-or-more series, one 800 series, and his high final season average to date is 210. Has
700-or-more series in five different decades. In November of 1955, bowled games of 267,
268 and 269 for a final series of 804. The score, at the time, broke the American Bowling
Congress record for high step-ladder series by any bowler and continues to stand today.
